India Mission 2013
Sustain Worldwide business development mission to Gujarat, India
Why Gujarat, India?
Gujarat is India’s most progressive state, one in which economic activity is outperforming the prodigious national average. The State outshines its peers in offering uninterrupted power supply, state-wide gas grid, rich gas reserves, extensive road and rail network and airports which makes it conducive for all types of investments to thrive. Sustain Worldwide, in partnership with our India-based sustainability sector specialist partner SEnS, is organising a tailored business mission in 2013 for British and European companies with specialist sustainability knowledge and services who are seeking to forge new business opportunities, build partnerships, impart best practice, share knowledge and develop supply chains with companies in Gujarat, and elsewhere in India.
Opportunities abound. A report by the ‘UK India Business Leaders Climate Group’ indicates low carbon initiatives in India could result in investments of over US$1 trillion over the next decade. Investments of approximately US$65 billion will be required for just two of the eight missions under India’s NAPCC, the National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE) and National Solar Mission (NSM). Furthermore, the report states, low carbon growth opportunities extend to water, waste management, clean energy, urban design, buildings and transportation sectors. Improving resource efficiency within Industries is expected to be a high demand need too as it will result in financial savings and supports conservation.
Despite the great potential in Gujarat, there remain challenges facing international companies seeking to enter the Indian market. It is important for any UK company to thoroughly research the market and speak to experts who understand the way business is conducted locally and who can highlight any potential pitfalls. Attending our mission, with support from Sustain Worldwide’s India-based sustainability sector specialist partner SEnS, will ensure you are business ready.
